Cultural Centre
CCTV coverage
There have been a number of high profile museum break-ins and associated theft or vandalism of valuable art in recent times. In an attempt to secure our gorgeous home and all that rests within her walls, we have recently installed a 24hr CCTV camera system that not only surveys the entire perimeter of the property, but also includes coverage of one or two strategic interior spaces. The interior camera network will soon be expanded to provide complete coverage.
We are also very pleased to now be supported by the locally based GRIT Security Services who have been exceptional service providers thus far. All these initiatives have been put in place not only to care for our art, but to look after our staff and our patrons.
Please join us in further protecting the assets by reporting any suspicious activities and persons to a member of staff. Please also don’t hesitate to give us your suggestions as to how better protect what we have.
General Information about Casa Labia
In the honour of Prince Natale Labia’s love of and great support for the arts, the Labia family launched the Casa Labia Cultural Centre in May 2010. The house is run as a multi-functional cultural centre which includes an independent, contemporary South African Art Gallery and Gallery Gift Shop along with the CasBah Design Boutique by Antonia Labia. Visitors and residents are enticed to enjoy a seasonal programme of events including lectures, art classes, workshops for children and adults, music concerts, poetry readings and book launches throughout the year. To find out more please visit our Current Cultural programme page.

Occasionally we close to host very special private functions. To avoid disappointment and in order to plan ahead, please click here to view our closure dates
